The Public Diplomacy Section of the Embassy hosted a workshop on “Internet Searching Skills” for almost 40 Lao officials from the National Assembly; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; National Economic Research Institute; Ministry of Commerce; National Organization for the Study of Politics and Administration (NOSPA); Science, Technology and Environment Agency (STEA); National University; Ministry of Justice; People’s Supreme Court; and the Public Prosecutor General’s Office.
Linda Parker, the Regional Information Resource Officer based in Bangkok, broke the workshop into two separate courses, one focused on economics and trade, and one on legal and judicial issues. Both sessions taught participants how to find accurate, credible and free information on the Internet from a number of different sources.
