Students at the Faculty of Engineering Have No Problem with Apollo 13 Movie

On May 30, 2007 the U.S. Embassy Vientiane’s Information Resource Center (IRC) held its fourth film showing at the Faculty of Engineering, the National University of Laos, this time with the “Apollo 13” film starring Tom Hanks. The movie, based on actual events, highlighted the challenges faced by engineers, astronauts, and their families during a crisis in space.

More than 100 students from the Faculty of Engineering and other departments around the campus attended the standing-room-only event and applauded the astronauts’ safe return to earth.

Before the showing, the IRC Assistant introduced the film and distributed the American Center’s brochure to all students, explaining the services offered by both the IRC and the American Center.
