IRC Vientiane Event Overwhelmed by Robot Enthusiasts

Students at the Faculty of Engineering watch the robots in action

On March 1, 2007, it was a standing-room-only crowd of students at the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos, for the video showing of “The Great Robot Race” sponsored by the IRC. Expecting 50 students, we were unprepared for - but delighted to see - the 150+ students who came to watch the robots race across the desert.

Before the video began, Public Affairs Officer Amy Archibald introduced the video and welcomed the students to the first event in what we hope is a growing relationship between the IRC and the Engineering school.
